The Arab Neighborhoods of East Jerusalem
The Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem are to a large extent terra incognita to the general public and even to the Israeli government agencies. The Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies (JIIS) houses a research project focused on uncovering the social, economic, and political characteristics of the neighborhoods of East Jerusalem. The research team explores a wide range of issues and aims to provide a status report about the services and infrastructure available in the neighborhoods, the needs of the residents and key everyday concerns, with the ultimate goal of helping to improve living conditions in East Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies has evaluated projects for the Jerusalem Municipality, Jerusalem Foundation, JDC Israel- Ashalim, UNESCO and others. These organizations commission JIIS researchers to conduct objective and professional evaluation studies.
